Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, will give the opening speech at the International Symposium on Security and Peace (ISSP) on November 30th, 2021, jointly held by the Center for Peace and Violence Prevention and the University of Port Harcourt.
Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill is the 9th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt. An international scholar, academic, and researcher, Professor Georgewill is a Professor of Pharmacology, with a specialty in Toxicology. His administrative experience has seen him serve as Acting Head of Department of Pharmacology, University of Port Harcourt, Deputy Provost of the College of Health Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Member of the Governing Council, University of Port Harcourt. He was also Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, as well as Associate Dean, Student Affairs Department, University of Port Harcourt. He is a widely published scholar in numerous reputable international and local journals in the field of Pharmacology and a reviewer of Pharmacology articles in numerous journals across the world.
Professor Georgewill is a Fellow of the Royal College of Biology, London, and Institute of Industrial Administration. He is also a Member of the International Association of Medical Education, USA, Society of Pediatric Oncologists, Italy, American Society of Nero Chemistry, West African Society of Pharmacology, Nigeria Medical Association, Association of Specialist Medical Doctors in Academia, Indian Society of Pharmacology, The World Academy of Science, Research in Medicines Society, National Cancer Investigation Society, United Kingdom, World Health Workers Without Borders, as well as West African Society of Toxicology.
