The Center for Peace and Violence Prevention (CPVP), is deeply honoured for the award of Peace Ambassador, bestowed upon our President Dr Charles Wratto, by the Centre for Peace Studies, Sri Lanka, on the occasion of World Peace Day. In receiving the recognition, he was joined by His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa, Former President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Velma Šarić, President and Executive Director of the Post Conflict Research Center (PCRC) in Bosnia.
Together, they were recognized for their role in fostering peace and tranquillity, respect for human dignity, and the practices that promote and uphold natural and fundamental human rights in conflict and post-conflict regions. Following the occasion, Dr Charles was invited to Sarajevo by the Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC), where he held an interactive discussion on key topics relating to reconciliation, transitional justice, human rights, and democracy.
The Center for Peace and Violence Prevention (CPVP), has worked to ensure that young people, particularly those in conflict and extreme poverty regions, acquire the necessary skills, and confidence they need to make positive contributions within their communities. We are grateful to the Centre for Peace Studies, Sri Lanka, for recognizing our efforts as we look forward to future collaborations with new and existing partners.
